You can use plastic fittings in mist applications. There are good 1/4in Slip-Lock Nozzles that fit into plastic tees. Springs operates at about 80 psi, open/close. Good mist production starts at about 150 psi. There are specific plastic fittings for misting that are rated for higher pressures. Below is a Tee that has a 250 psi working pressure rating. These fittings are actually made out of Nylon which provides the strength needed for high working pressures.
